Alternative Drinks To Order This Fourth of July

The Fourth of July is coming up fast, and as Texans, we know this means a weekend of great drinks, greater steaks, and memorable times with the family.  As a premier restaurant in the heart of Dallas, Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse knows how to pair a good drink with a cut of beef.

Although most people automatically veer towards red wine as a complement to their steak dinner, this may not be the drink for everyone! We all have our own tastes. So, for those who crave something more than a Merlot to go with your Ribeye, here are five alternative options that will also bring out the flavor this Fourth!

Whiskey

Regardless of your whiskey tastes, the rich notes found in this libation easily bring out the beefy taste of any steak dinner. When it comes to whiskey, however, we like to keep it simple.

Whether you’re a rye, bourbon or scotch drinker, you don’t want to water your taste combos down with soda or too much fluff. That’s why at our steakhouse, we serve our Rye drinks with just enough flavor to let you know the drink’s unique.

Next time you’re visiting the West End District, stop in during Happy Hour and try out our Dirty Marshall, a rye-based cocktail that brings out a splash of grapefruit and lime flavoring with each sip.

Beer

No, we’re not talking about the “lite” beer you can find at any grocery store. While they can serve as a good starter drink, you’ll want something a little deeper to go with your perfectly-prepped delicacy.

Indulge your taste buds with a tasty Amber Lager or a specialty craft from local favorite, Deep Ellum Brewery. A full-bodied beer will be able to withstand the powerful flavor of a dry rubbed steak with a fair amount of marbleization. Sometimes determining the right beer with steak can be a tough decision to make. If you’re dining out this Fourth, make sure to ask your server which beers go best with your order.

Club Soda with a Peel of Lime

Believe it or not, alcohol is not a requirement when it comes to pairing steaks with drinks! Much like other fine dining, enjoying dinner at Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse should involve some form of palate cleansing. For that, we highly recommend ordering a club soda with a twist of lemon or lime.

This drink will help cut through the heavy flavors of your steak and is going to leave your mouth tasting every bite as if it were the first. Order up this simple mixture to keep the taste of your steak dinner fresh!

White Wine

Whoever says steak and white wine don’t pair well is no true connoisseur. If red wine isn’t your thing, take a look at our wine list! One of our servers will be more than happy to accommodate your white wine tastes with a rich Chardonnay that will cut through the beefy flavor as well as any red!

Celebrate the Independence Day in Comfort at Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse

Although the Fourth of July is usually a holiday for an outdoor celebration, Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse invites you to beat the heat this year at our table. We have all of the traditional meats and add our own flair to your favorite sides. The best part is, we do the prep and cleaning up for you! Make your reservation today.
