Cranberry Chipotle BBQ Sauce Recipe


• 2 teaspoons chopped fresh ginger
• ½ cup chopped white or yellow onion
• 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar
• 1 clove garlic
• 1 tablespoon olive oil
• 1 cup tomato ketchup
• 1 cup cranberry juice
• 1 cup cranberries, fresh, frozen or dried
• 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
• 1 only Jalapeno, seeded and minced
• 1 tablespoon chipotle peppers, minced
• 1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
• ¼ cup fresh lime juice
• ¼ cup Cilantro, minced


In a medium sauté pan over medium-high heat, sauté ginger, onions, jalapenos and garlic in olive
oil until tender but not browned. Add Brown sugar and stir well. Add remaining ingredients,
except cilantro, to the ginger-onion-garlic mixture. Slowly cook over medium low heat. Taste
and adjust seasoning if needed. Remove from heat and add cilantro. Transfer to clean container,
cover label and refrigerate until needed.
