How To Host an Adult Halloween Party

Some of the fondest memories people have when they grow up are from Halloween. As kids, dressing up in fun costumes, carving pumpkins, and trick-or-treating were things we looked forward to about the special day. As adults, our tastes and what we look forward to have changed just a little bit. We still enjoy the candy and even steal some from our kids’ stash, but we also like delicious appetizers and other grown up things like Halloween parties or masquerades. As one of the best steakhouses in Dallas, we want to guide you through creating the perfect adult Halloween party.

Figure Out the Location

Unless you’re particularly brave, you probably don’t want to have a party in your own home. The mess, clean up, and lack of space can make for a less than pleasant evening for you as the host. Consider finding a venue that can accommodate your party size and deal with all of the clean up you don’t want to do. Our private party rooms in downtown Dallas can hold up to 300 people for a cocktail party or 150 for sit-down dinner.

Decide on a Menu Dallas steakhouse menu

The Halloween parties we went to as a kid had Halloween-themed finger foods that grossed us out and made the party that much better. As adults, we’re upgrading a little to beautiful hors d’oeuvres from our Dallas steakhouse. You might consider some of our bruschetta or venison roll-ups. For your vegetarian friends, herb-stuffed mushrooms and three-cheese ravioli might be just the ticket. If you plan on having alcohol at your party, know before hand if you want to have a cash bar or an open bar. We offer several bar packages that will suit whatever budget you have.

Consider the Theme

Is it a party in which important people will be there? If it’s just you and friends or family, the party might be a little more relaxed in terms of decor. However, if someone’s boss or client is attending, you might want to consider decor or a theme that’s sophisticated. Some themes might be simple like black and orange accents and pumpkins throughout the room. Other themes like a masquerade, will be a little more complex and require a lot more planning.

Your guests will also want to know what the dress code is. If it’s masquerade, will it be black tie or black tie optional? If not, are costumes required for attendees? Be very specific in your invitations so that no one is confused over the dress code. Nothing is more embarassing than showing up under dressed for a party or event.

Will There Be Entertainment?

Any great party has some sort of entertainment for guests to enjoy. Most people enjoy dancing so you might consider hiring a DJ for your party. Since it’s Halloween, a fun touch may be a fortune teller or even someone on stilts dressed up. Whatever you decided to do, make sure to clear it with your venue before hand so there aren’t any surprises later on.
