Dallas COVID-19 Resolutions Impact Local Restaurants and Bars

The City of Dallas has taken some major steps in the wake of preventing the spread of Coronavirus/COVID-19. Following suit of other cities across the country, it has severely limited the number of crowds that can gather at a public event, as well as the operational abilities of our city’s bars and restaurants, including Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse.

Here are some of the important facts about this proactive measure and how you can continue to help our local restaurants thrive during these trying times.

Understanding the Restrictions

According to a news report from NBCDFW on Monday, March 16, the leaders of the City of Dallas and Dallas County ordered that all gatherings are to be capped at 50 people with an appropriate distance of six feet between them.

This news came quickly after reports that President Donald Trump recommended that people limit their social gatherings to ten bodies or less, and that visiting restaurants, bars, and other public places.

Following the 50 person cap and warnings of public locations, the City ordered all bars, lounges, taverns, gyms, nightclubs, and theaters to close their doors until further notice during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Can You Still Eat at Restaurants?

While this mandate also extends to dine-in restaurants, those who still want to venture from their homes for a bite to eat can still do so, with some restricting strings attached. According to the Dallas Morning News, in the best interest of public health, restaurants are limited to services that include:

  • Drive-thru
  • Carry-out
  • Deliveries

So, the answer is yes, you can still enjoy local eateries like Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse; you just don’t get the ambiance and customer service of a sit-down meal.

Ways You Can Help Local Businesses

Many of your favorite local businesses are struggling at this time and could use any assistance that helps get them through this pandemic timeline. Here are some of the things you can do from your home that can help start to get life back to normal, faster.

Purchase Gift Cards

This shutdown won’t last forever; and when doors open back up, wouldn’t you like to have had gift cards to your favorite restaurant saved up? By purchasing gift cards now, for future use, businesses benefit today, even during the coronavirus mandate.

Order Delivery

If restaurants near you are offering delivery services, take advantage of them. Nor only can this shake up your menu at home, but it also brings in some money when customers can’t physically make it through the doors!

As far as Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse goes, we are offering delivery and carry-out services until dine-in is open again. With this offer, not only do you get the benefits of delivery and curbside pickup, but we are also offering 50 percent off on all bottles of wine 100 dollars or less!

COVID-19 is a serious global issue, and unfortunately, we are all in this together. By taking the proper precautions and using the resources available to continually support local bars, restaurants, and other businesses, you can help get life back to normal sooner for the rest of us.
