Office Party Etiquette at Downtown Dallas Restaurants

The holiday season is in full swing and at Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse, we’re getting excited! As one of Dallas’ best restaurants, we look forward to hosting many holiday gatherings in our restaurant. Some of the most fun parties to host in our Downtown Dallas steakhouse are holiday office parties. People get to let their hair down and enjoy the company of their coworkers and even bosses. Even though office parties are a time to celebrate and have fun, there are still a few basic rules of etiquette that you should follow.

Do Not Skip the Holiday PartyHoliday Parties Steakhouse-Dallas TX

You may think that your office’s party is optional to attend but your absence will be noticed. Attending the party shows that you are committed to your team and to your company, and that you should be valued. This social function is a great time to show off your social skills and mingle with higher ups. Plus, if your company is hosting their party at Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse, you’ll miss out on trying popular hors d’oeuvres like our venison roll ups and our quail satay.

Respect the Privacy of Colleagues

In our digital world, pictures, check-ins on Facebook, and status updates are part of how we share our lives with others. However, be cautious and considerate of coworkers who may not appreciate their photo going up on your personal social media account. If you would like to post a photo of coworkers and yourself at our Dallas steakhouse, ask them before doing so. If you do plan on posting photos, make sure that no one in the photo is visibly “tipsy”. It doesn’t speak well of their professional capabilities and will most certainly cause drama in the office later.

Dress to Impress

The office party, depending on the location and type of party it is, will most likely require you to dress up a bit. Keep your clothing conservative in nature because this isn’t a “wild night out” with friends. These are your bosses and coworkers and you want their respect. At our restaurant, we offer private event spaces that create a sense of ambiance and luxury. We suggest wearing a suit or cocktail dress if you’re attending an office party here.

Remember to say ‘thank you”

Typically companies will have a party planning committee to help plan the holiday office party. Whoever the designated hosts are, be sure to send a thank you note after the party. It lets them know you appreciate their hard work and also gets you acquainted with them if you didn’t know the hosts before. Thank you notes are an easy and simple way to display proper etiquette.
